THE MOOD SWING WRITING ACTIVITY

 It is so important that you find a way to detox your soul.  When I say "detox", I mean to remove excess waste from your soul... friverless energy.  We all have lingering thoughts and burdens. 

Did you know that positive thoughts and events can be considered burdensome too?  Remember, happy things can cause the body to react in stress as well as negative things.  As is often said, "Too much of a bad thing can kill ya."  well, too much of a good thing can too!  For example... for some, going to Disney World might be one of the best things to happen ever, but the stress involved in getting there can make you sick!  Or Having a baby... it is also a very positive thing that the body can also respond to with great stress.  

As a result, finding ways to vent our thoughts and experiences enables us to resets the stress responders in our beings.  By doing so, we support the rebalance process!  Sometimes, writing away the pain or writing a way of gain can be just the way to do it!  If you struggle to get started, here is a fun way to begin your journal:

  •  1) Take 3 minutes to think about the feelings you had throughout the day.  
  •  2) Write down on 5 small pieces of paper the top five feelings that come to mind.
  •  3) Fold them in half so you can not see them.
  •  4) Place them into a had and shuffle them around.
  •  5) Pic out the first word.

Now begin writing by using the first feeling that came out.  When all your thoughts associated with that feeling seem to be out, pick the next word and do the same.   To make this fun, try finding someone who you can journal with and if your comfortable read what you've written to one another.  Be attentive to how you feel when you are finished.  If you had any negative feelings of anger or frustration, see if there seems to be a sense of release that comes with having performed this activity. 

Your body naturally resets while you sleep, so doing this type of activity prior to resting, will help strengthen your immune system and give your immune system something other than the effects of stress to ward off!  Keeping a balanced stress level is vital to your long term Self-Health Care, make it a priority to add to your days of life by discovering detox strategies that will support and enhance your life!
